About our fitness sandbags

In 2010 we redesigned fitness sandbags after using the duffel-bag style sandbag for 3 years.   We sold them from fitbodygear.net.  Other names for our website have been dgkfit.com and sandfitusa.com.  We decided in 2014 to move to a name that helps you find us. 
While we have changed our name, we have not changed the quality of our product. In fact, we continue to improve it. We now are here to stay on Workout Sandbags to make it easier for you to find us. While using the duffel-bag style of sandbag for 3 years, our owner designed a simpler but more effective design for fitness sandbags.

Our sandbag folds around rubber handles sewn inside the bag, which gives both a better grip and delivers a better unstable shifting sand effect to the stabilizer muscles.  We are the only fitness sandbags we know of that has inner handgrips for these advantages.  All our products are made in USA.

 By using a pair of heavy duty contractor bags, we enable the inner bag to move as a whole with the outer bag, and they do not leak!  The whole-bag shifting sand movement is central to the benefit of sandbag training.  We include a pair of them to be doubled up at no extra charge with every sandbag purchase. For over 3 years, they have help up to all of our customers' use.

Fitness sandbags are not adjustable dumbbells, in our opinion.  It is a tool to be used for hundreds of exercises.  The adjustment can be made by either using different sized sandbags or varying the number of reps per exercise.

Our sandbags are both simple and effective.  Do not let their simplicity mislead you.  They are well thought out, backed by years of improvement, and considered by our customers to be the best you can buy.  The external handgrips and multiple inner bags have been eliminated for the benefit of optimum performance.  In addition, our sandbags are made of one piece of fabric to minimize the amount of seams necessary to make it.  This makes it stronger.  It is made like a giant beanbag to be MORE difficult to lift.  A duffel-bag style fitness sandbag is made from a design that minimizes the effort to lift its load.  The giant beanbag style of our sandbags gives both a better grip and a better unstable, shifting sand effect.

You now have the choice sandbags made from either 1000D nylon fabric or 1050D ballistic nylon fabric.  1000D is the standard fabric for sandbags.  We have taken it one step further by making our fitness sandbags from 1050D ballistic nylon fabric.  Ballistic nylon fabric is woven with 2 strands of yard going each way.  This makes it twice as strong as 1000D fabric.  For home and indoor use, the 1000D fabric is plenty strong.  For gym and commercial use, we recommend the ballistic nylon sandbags.

If you want something done right, do it yourself.  That goes for your workout and our equipment.  We designed our sandbags from scratch, not copied them from preexisting designs. Our fitness sandbags are of an original design.  This design is more ergonomic and more effective than the duffel-bag style. Our fabric and thread is thicker and stronger. Dale Kirksey is a former Texas and Arizona high school biology teacher/coach and summer Rocky mountaineer. He began functional fitness in the 90's to train for his mountain adventures. He designs our  products with help from his wife Marianne and dog Jenni.
